If your body is in a calorie surplus mode or even in a calorie maintenance mode, i.e. if you consume more calories than you spend or as many calories as you spend, your body will not burn the released fat and that fat will go back into your fat cells - most probably on the cellulite afflicted areas that act as fat magnets. You body never throws fat away! Fat for your body is what money is to you: a very precious commodity that you have to save for a "rainy day", i.e. possible starvation in the future.

The only way a cream can help you reduce cellulite without you making any effort is by draining the excess water, usually in a temporary, "diuretic" manner. However, in this case, if you stop applying your cream your cellulite increases again, as soon as the water accumulates in your cellulite tissues again. And the fat is still there underneath your skin where it always was, even if you used a fat-burning cream, since you never made any effort to burn the fat released by the cream!
