Do cellulite creams work on their own or do they only work together with cellulite treatments?

Cellulite creams and cellulite treatments work on slightly different aspects of cellulite, with some differences and some overlaps.

In fact, cellulite creams can do things that cellulite treatments can’t, while no treatment can work on as many aspects of cellulite as a good cellulite cream can.

On the other hand, treatments work faster than creams.

Where cellulite creams work and treatments don’t

Cellulite treatments, for example, cannot act on free radical damage, glycation or inflammation, three important aspects of cellulite.

On the contrary, a good cellulite cream (I know, they are very rare, but they do exist) will act on those three aspects of cellulite, provided it contains a high concentrations of actives researched for their…

  • antioxidant properties (e.g. EGCG from green tea)

  • anti-inflammatory properties (e.g. curcumin from turmeric)

  • anti-glycation properties (e.g. chlorogenic acid from green coffee)

Where both cellulite creams and treatments work

Plus, a good cellulite cream with high concentrations of actives researched for their…

  • lipolytic properties (e.g. forskolin)

  • anti-fibrotic properties (e.g. asiatic acid from centella asiatica)

  • collagen boosting properties (e.g. hydroxyproline)

  • microcirculation enhancing properties (e.g. esculin)…

… can act on the other four aspects of cellulite, where a good cellulite treatment can also work.

So a cellulite cream can work totally independently from a cellulite treatment

Sure, cellulite creams act more slowly than cellulite treatments but also at a fraction of the cost of treatments.

A three-month supply of a good cellulite cream can cost half the price of just ONE cellulite treatment, for exactly the same body area.

So the difference between a good cellulite cream and a good cellulite treatment are the following:

  • Creams offer value for money and also work in areas where treatments can’t - but they are more slow-acting

  • Treatments offer faster results but at a higher cost - and still they cannot act on certain aspects of cellulite

While the best thing to do is combine both, if you cannot have a course of treatments, due to cost or time constraints, use a cream independently of a treatment.

And if you do not like applying creams on your body, just have a course of treatments - but you may be missing out on the benefits of a cream.

How can I find a cellulite cream that works?

Look for high concentrations of multiple, high-purity natural actives, such as:

  • centella triterpenes

  • forskolin

  • EGCG

  • caffeine

  • hesperidin

  • hydroxyproline

  • curcumin

  • ruscogenin

  • esculin

  • escin

  • chlorogenic acid

  • cocoa flavanols

  • rutin

…among other actives.
